Thulaseedas, the director of many light-veined entertainers and actor Mohanlal are teaming up for the second time to deliver College Kumaran. The film is a campus flick with a difference. The title character, played by Mohanlal, is no college-going youth at all. Kumaran however, has been associated with the campus for a long time, and is an integral part of life on the campus. Kumaran runs the campus canteen. He is sought after by everyone, ranging from students to teachers, to other staff members. For all of them it is rather difficult to think about the college campus without him. They seek his help and advice in all matters, including personal ones like love and romance. Thus he becomes their favourite 'College Kumaran'. The film, which has in it enough of humour and light moments, also has its share of drama, action, music, songs, sentiments et al. Vimala plays the female lead role of a lecturer named Madhavi. Lots of youngsters too form part of the cast. College Kumaran, which has been shot mostly in Thiruvananthapuram, and is released by Emil and Eric.
